Google Webmaster Tools is also called Google Search Console. It is a free service from Google for Webmasters and it is a valuable instrument for SEO. The webmaster can learn information about the website and it allows webmasters to check indexing status and optimize visibility of their websites. 


Google can confirm the ownership and verify the blog in Search Console. The following are the verification steps.
  • Submit Sitemap
  • Check that Google can find and crawl your website.
  • Write and check robots.txt file helps to find pages that are blocked in robots.txt accidentally.
  • List Internal pages and External pages that link to the site.
  • Get a list of links that Google bot find difficulty in crawling, including the error that Google bot found when accessing the URLs in question
  • Receive alerts when indexing or any spam issues occur in our sites.
  • It gives detailed information about what keywords used by the searcher is searching on Google being listed in the SERPs, it acquires the total impression and total clicks.
  • We can add the property of the web page

Verifying the Website using Search Console

  • Log in to your  Search Console account using your mail id Search google.com/webmaster/tool.
  • Click on 'Add a Property' from home screen, enter the URL of your website and the site is added to the Search Console Account.
  • Verify your site.

  • Select the 'Alternate methods' tab
  • Copy the meta tag from the box
  • Paste into your site and click verify

  • Select the Alternate method tab
  • 'Add the TXT record below' from the box and click verify

4. Google Analytics

Methods to create a Google Analytics record that proves to Google that you own the domain and it is an Alternate method.

  • Select the Alternate method tab.
  • Click Google Analytics and verify

On-Page SEO is the practice of optimizing web pages in order to rank in the top list and earn more relevant traffic in search.
There are two types of Page Optimization used in SEO. They are On-Page Optimization and Of-Page Optimization.



On-Page SEO refers to all the measures that can be taken directly within your website to develop its position in the search rankings.

On-Page SEO Factors

1. Title Tag

Title tags are mostly used to display preview Snippets of our web pages. Title tag defines the title of each page of a website and displayed in search engine results, Title tags are the tags that make impress to users or visitors and the visitors spend more time on the web page may result in high page rank. The title is more important to impress users and to increase the page CTR (Click Through Rate) 

The title tag is also called meta title and the ideal length of meta title should be 50-60 or 512 pixels, whether our title tag exceeds more than 60 characters Google will show only the first 60 characters.
If we keep the characters under 60 it may result in a high reading percentage for the page.

Tips to make an impressive Title

  • A title should be Bold and Unique
  • Characters should not exceed 60
  • Title must be clear and Attractive
  • No Grammatical Errors and Spelling mistakes

2. Meta Description


Meta Description
It is an element used in Search Engine Optimization, it describes the content of the web page and it is an HTML attribute that provides a brief knowledge of a web page, Google shows meta description in search of results it can influence CTR  and it is a snippet of up to 320 characters.

Tips for writing Meta Description

  • The description must be impressive and unique
  • Characters should be between 155-165 and Pixel width is 1024
  • Content on a web page is similar to the Meta Description

3. Body Optimization

It is a Human part of a web page and Google gives more important to Body content, Content must be simple and it should be clear to understand.

4. Content Optimization

It is the informative part of the website, Content maybe text, link, image or video that useful to the user or visitor to understand the web page.
The heading1 tag is the visible part or identity part of the body section, h1 represents the main heading of the content. We can use 8-10 words in h1 tag, there are six elements of heading h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, and h6
The main part or visible portion of the content is the Anchor Text. A tag that is used to add a hyperlink to the text is called Anchor Text.

5.Keyword Optimization

 It is a Keyword research, analyzing and selecting the best Keywords to target to drive qualified traffic from search engines to your websites.

6.Keyword Density

Keyword Density is the practice which specifies the number of keywords appears on the page compared to the total number of words on the page, keyword density depends on the length of the content 2-5% is the normal way.

7. Image Optimization

We add images in the published pages and search engines can't read images, so we can give "alt tags" and "image title tags" which are part of image code. Save the image with our focusing keyword and give an "alt tag" for image description. 

Of-Page Optimization

It is the outside of the website to increase the visitors and to improve the page ranking, position in search rankings. It is also known as Of-Site SEO, Link building and Social media Optimization are the techniques used in Of-Page Optimization

In 2011 February Google introduced a search filter ie; Google Panda. Its aim is to stop sites with poor quality content from working their way into Google's top search results. Panda checks content duplication, low-quality website such as grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, content spinning, etc;
Panda 4.0(May 19) Added Panda Algorithm Permenantly into the main Algorithm of Google and filtering all the data in it.

Google Penguin Updates

Google launched the Penguin Update in April 2012 to catch the low-quality websites that give spammy links, link spamming  include link exchange, link selling, and link buying, etc;
  • Link Exchange: Exchanging links one to another 
  • Comment Spamming: It is any comment that has been posted to a blog for  the purpose of generating an inbound link to the comment authors own site or blog
  • Wiki Spamming: After registering Wikipedia and the link spamming through it
  • Guest Blogging:  It is a method where you can write an article for a website and get a link to your website. It was a powerful method of linking, but Google stopped practicing guest blogging.

Google Introduced with the aim of increasing the ranking of local listing in a search, the changes will also affect the search result shown in Google Maps along with the regular Google search result.

Google launched  Humming Bird in 2013. A search engine gives importance to the phrase rather than the keyword. Google will give out the matching result of the query to the users, here google used artificial intelligence. If the majority selected a specific answer for a query the google will go along with the majority.

Google introduced this update in 2015. It is used by artificial intelligence and it was using deeply, for example:- different age group of people searches cordless mouse in a different way, but Google tries to give accurate results.

Mobile Geddon Updates


Mobile Geddon
In 2015 the Google introduced this Mobile-friendly update made big changes to the mobile search rankings. The main effect of this update is to give priority and importance to websites that display well on smartphones and other mobile devices.


Pirated Updates(Digital Millenium Copyright Act)

Pirated Updates(DMCA)

Pirated Updation is copying the data of a site into another, according to Digital Millenium Copyright Act we can register complaints against this copy and google will take necessary steps for it.

EMD(Exact Match Domain) Updates


It is a filter Google launched in September 2012 to prevent poor quality sites from ranking high. Google catches the site which has been developed with keywords that match the search terms in their domain name and does not have upgraded to maintain the quality of the web page.

It is a set of illegal or unethical practices that an individual or group of individuals employed in the attempt to improve search engine result for  a website or group of web sites

White Hat SEO

It is a set of ethical, technical and aesthetic practices that an individual or group of individuals employed in the attempt to improve search engine results for a website or group of websites.

Grey Hat SEO

It is an SEO Practice that is riskier than White Hat and this is a set of both ethical and unethical

Keyword Stuffing

It is an SEO technique, it refers to the practice of loading web pages with keyword or numbers and meta tags in the attempt to artificially increase the sites ranking in Google search results.

Evolution of SEO

Search engines mainly work based on the algorithms. In olden days, search engines were used which is based on the web pages contents, these contents are considered as a keyword in a web page, these users started to practice keyword stuffing with adding too many keywords in web page to gain the high rank. The different types of keyword stuffing are adding keywords in blank spaces and adding many keywords and making their pixels size small, meta keyword tag which gives a brief description of web pages.
Last page rank  update was done on 2013, high page rank link selling was started to practice by users  so google introduced "passing juice"external links that is SEO link juice which  means websites with high page ranks, if giving more links to another website then their page rank decreases automatically, later 2016 April 10 the google hid the page rank

Google Adwords and Google Adsense(2000-2002)

Adwords is the user can advertise their product and services online. Adword is also known as PPC(Pay Per Click) It is the model of internet marketing in which advertisers pay a fee each time one of their Add is clicked. Cost Per Click refers to the  price you pay for every click in your pay per click

Adsense is used by website publishers to earn money when visitors click their Add or view the Add.

In 2009-2010 Google Introduced a new method ie; Google Suggest, Personalised Search, etc. In Google Suggest we can see a suggestion list in Google while we type for a query.
